It is considered as the best diagnostic tool for diagnosis fertility problems detecting anatomical and functional factors. As a result, the infertility treatments can be individualized and targeted.

Through Laparoscopy, many factors of infertility such as endometriosis, adhesions, blocked fallopian tubes; ovarian (cysts) or uterine pathology (fibroids) can be detected and treated.

In some cases, only the laparoscopic mobilization of tubes and ovaries and the passage of contrast media through the fallopian tubes after a laparoscopic procedure may be sufficient to increase significantly the pregnancy rates during the first six months after the procedure.

When should I consider a laparoscopic procedure?
  • In case of uterine abnormalities such as fibroids that need to be removed to optimize the receptivity of the uterus.
  • In case of pelvic adhesions. These adhesions might obstruct the ova (eggs) to get into fallopian tubes during ovulation. As a result, sperm cannot reach the egg and the conception cannot occur. Therefore adhesions need to be removed.
  • In cases of many failed IVF attempts or intrauterine inseminations with no apparent reason.
  • When infertility problems are combined with pelvic pain, endometriosis is likely to happen which means that there are biochemical factors which harm the ova). Therefore endometriosis needs to be removed.
